Former President John Mahama is receiving goodwill gestures from Branch Executives as well as blessings from traditional rulers to lead NDC in 2020 as he continues his campaign tour of the Upper West Region in his quest to be the standard bearer of the NDC in 2020.
He was very thankful to the people of Loggu, Lassie Tuolu, Wechiau, Lawra, Eremon and Nandom for their show of overwhelming support and love for his ticket to lead the umbrella family.
Mr. Mahama entreated the NDC faithful to roll up their sleeves and work hard for the party to come back to power in January 2021.
The NDC flagbearer aspirant told the Branch Executives of the party that “he sees in their faces the determination to wrestle power from NPP but was quick to add that the failure of NPP should not be the reason for NDC to win the 2020 election.
Former President Mahama indicated that unresolved problems and some other issues caused the party to lose a number of parliamentary seats but was however happy the issues were now been resolved.
He therefore commended Mr. Bede Ziedeng and Mr. Sampson Abu who had issues in the Lawra constituency before the election but have now resolved their differences to enable the party to take back the seat it lost to the NPP candidate.
He pointed out that NDC party was a party that offered the opportunity for everyone and paid tribute to former President J.J. Rawlings for giving him the chance to serve as Deputy Minister of Communications and later as the substantive Minister thereby paving the way for him to climb the political ladder.
