Radio Mak, a subsidiary of Skojig Multimedia Company Limited on Thursday, organized free health screening for people of Wa as part of activities to mark its one year anniversary celebration.
A total of 74 people benefited from the activity which was aimed at ensuring a healthy life and well-being of its listeners, customers and business partners.
The health screening which was led by Ekukuduro Herbal Hospital saw beneficiaries undergo HIV, Typhoid, hepatitis B, diabetes, and malaria screening as well as a general health scan to enable them to know their health status.
The beneficiaries were also given health counseling to help them maintain healthy lives at all times.
The General Manager of Radio Mak, Mr. Abdul Sammed Gurundari, explained that the success of every organization depended on the health of its customers and clients which informed the need for the health screening to be organized.
“Every Institution wants to work with a health people and so we are a public institution we want to serve the public, so their health is important to us.
We think that celebration our one year we need to do something for the public so management thought it wise that it is good we organise the health screening for our cherished listeners to come and take part, we want to have a healthy listenership”, Mr. Gurundari noted.
Some of the people who went through the health screening commended the organizers for the gesture.
Other activities for the celebration included youth forum and football games between youth groups in the Wa Municipality to unite the youth in the municipality for development.
